Update: WAF extends entry deadline to May 27, 2022. We’ve found ourselves at the receiving end of the perfect storm these past two years: seemingly unending Covid waves and variants, storms of both natural and political nature, and as of writing, a deplorable invasion. These problems aren’t going away in the new normal anytime soon; and while it is human to fear, isolate, and grieve, so it is to stand up, get together and persevere.
In the spirit of championing creativity and hope as seen in spaces, places, and people that make the world a little better, the annual World Architecture Festival (WAF) kickstarts its 15th year with a call for entries alongside sister festival INSIDE Festival of Interiors. Arguably the largest and one of the most prestigious architectural prizes in the world, practices who make the festival’s shortlist get the one-of-a-kind opportunity to present their projects live in front of some of the biggest names in architecture.
WAF and INSIDE winners get global recognition from their peers, increased exposure in architecture and design media, and inclusion in the World Buildings Directory, an online database featuring all the practices and projects that have been submitted to the WAF.
WAF and INSIDE are counting on finally hosting the world onsite (after a two-year stint in the digital realm) at Fil – Feira Internacional de Lisboa, in Lisbon, Portugal. Before we get to these three days of intensive architectural discourse, kickstart your WAF and INSIDE journey by following the instructions below!

Second Year as Media Partner + 10% Discount
Last year, we partnered with the World Architecture Festival for our media coverage, the most comprehensive local effort to document the WAF. Supported by GROHE Philippines and Wilcon Depot, our pre-event activities included online crit session practices (below) with all shortlisted entrants, organized to prepare our representatives for the intensely grueling crit sessions with the WAF jury. The Kanto team also broke WAF updates and news in real-time, with in-depth reportage that yielded thirty stories supplemented with exclusive video content.
It is our pleasure to announce that we are once again a media partner for this year’s edition of the World Architecture Festival, one that we hope to cover onsite. To celebrate this partnership, we are sharing a 10% discount on award entry/delegate rates which you can avail of by using our promo code below.

We are also very happy to announce that Kanto can assist INSIDE entrants to get a ten-day extension on the official May 20 deadline if needed. Please contact us at kanto.journal@gmail.com, so we may endorse you to the organizers.
The Philippines gave its best performance in the WAF last year with seven awards won by four practices, two of which were first-time entrants! We also received one INSIDE shortlist placement after a long entry drought. Will you be part of another groundbreaking performance by the country this year? Start your WAF/INSIDE journey now! •
