Salus Per Aquam, or ‘Health Through Water.’ The spa may have metamorphosed into various forms since its invention by the Romans, but one thing has remained constant: the power of water to cleanse, heal, and invigorate. With the Asia Pacific launch of GROHE SPA, the venerable bathroom solutions brand widened access to water’s wellness benefits with a collection of products that will complete the transformation of one’s bathroom into a home spa. GROHE launched its luxury sub-brand in grand style today, November 28, at the LIXIL Experience Center in Singapore, where an estimated 200 industry partners, guests, and media, including Kanto,  were in attendance. The brand was first launched last April 18-23, 2023 during Milan Design Week with a water surface installation at the Pinacoteca di Brera in Italy.

The sub-brand was conceptualized to meet head-on the evolution of the bathroom beyond a place to cleanse into a ‘sanctuary of regeneration’: a personal space of retreat where water takes on the role of healer, restoring and reenergizing the mind and body. Beyond utility, the bathroom has also come to exude the personality and energy of its users, a step away from the generic volumes it once was, serving a single purpose.

A look at the GROHE SPA collection reveals an evolution of the mother brand’s “Pure Freude an Wasser” philosophy, pushing the conventional in its vision of distinctive, tailor-made havens of well-being for immersive and restorative water rituals. This called for a product portfolio that utilizes novel materials, unparalleled levels of customization, and a full embrace of new production technologies like 3D printing to bring select product lines to reality.

“Embracing the belief of water as the source of vital energy is the inspiration and guidance behind GROHE SPA. Its curated collections, crafted to the highest standards and quality of materials and finishes, offer many personalization options for a tailored, all-around bathroom experience.” Antoine Besseyre des Horts, Leader LIXIL Global Design, Asia, shared with media.

In conjunction with the launch of GROHE SPA, specially curated installations and experiences that embody its Health Through Water philosophy await visitors at LIXIL Experience Centers (LECs) in India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore. To ensure access to the luxury sub-brand’s offerings, the LEC network will progressively be expanded across APAC, sharing its home alongside LIXIL’s legacy brands: American Standard, GROHE, and INAX.

“The GROHE SPA launch in APAC offers discerning homeowners and industry partners with a personalized, differentiated luxury bathroom experience,” Satoshi Konagai, Leader, LIXIL Water Technology, APAC, revealed. “Our LECs in India, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore, are part of our growing collaborative platform to support bespoke GROHE SPA projects, including the multisensory Rainshower AQUA Ceiling Shower, GROHE Allure Colors, Atrio and Allure Brilliant Private Collections, and exclusive 3D metal-printed masterpieces.”

Personalization is a key characteristic of the GROHE SPA portfolio, allowing for a plethora of customizations like color, material finish, to handle options, all to create a home spa that is truly unique to its user.

GROHE SPA’s Rainshower AQUA Ceiling Shower Modules allow customization of the shower experience, from spray patterns, lighting, and even sound and steam features. Subtle touches like the haptic feedback on the GROHE Allure basin mixer, as well as the wide range of finishes available like hard graphite, chrome, or brushed cool sunrise, make the product truly one’s own.

Cutting-edge design and an avant-garde selection of colors and material finishes set apart the GROHE Atrio and Allure Brilliant Private Collections, while GROHE’s partnership with Caesarstone, global pioneer of premium countertop surfaces, expands customization options with authentic marble styles for faucet handles. Caesarstone surfaces can also be combined with GROHE SPA Private Collections.

The bathroom is evolving into a space for transformative water experiences. GROHE SPA leads the charge into this new chapter, providing utility, beauty, and individuality in its quest for health through water. •
