For the first time, four Filipino designers have earned the prestigious Golden Pin Design Mark from Taiwan’s Golden Pin Design Award, a recognition program widely considered “the most influential design award in the global Huaren market.”

It is a significant achievement in that after years of participation without recognition (Pinoy designers joined in 2020 and 2021, but none made the awards stage), The Philippines now stands among the best, with four entries now in the running for the top plums: Best Design Award and the Special Annual Award.

The 2024 Filipino Golden Pin Design Mark recipients are:

EUDO for “House for a Father”
Spatial Design

Plus63 for “Kapihan
Communication Design

The Acid House for “Spotify You Do You Campaign”

These victories are a proud achievement, placing the Philippines in the company of top designers from 14 regions: Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, The Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Across all categories, 642 entries were recognized, including those in Product Design, with 245 winners, 195 for Communication Design, 150 for Spatial Design, and finally, 50 for Integration Design.

The journey continues as all 642 Mark Winners now advance to the final selection on September 9, competing for the “Best Design of the Year” and “Special Award of the Year” plums. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on December 13, 2024, as part of the suite of events under Taiwan Design Week 2024 (December 11 to 15) at the Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center. Kanto will provide live coverage from Taipei.

The Golden Pin Design Award is established to recognize exceptional design across product, communication, spatial, and integration categories, with a focus on the global Chinese-speaking (Huaren) market. The program involves several stages: initial submissions, followed by preliminary and secondary selections, and culminating in final judging. Notable entries are awarded the Golden Pin Design Mark, which highlights their quality. The highest accolade, the Golden Pin Best Design Award, is presented during a ceremony in Taipei each December, offering significant industry recognition and media coverage. The submission cycle for the next edition will run from April to June 2025.

Congratulations again to our Golden Pin Design Mark recipients! Mabuhay kayong lahat!
